1. Acceptance
Section titled “1. Acceptance”By downloading, installing, or using Spool (“the Software”), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Software.
2. The Software
Section titled “2. The Software”Spool is a free, open-source desktop application for managing a game library and backing up and restoring game saves, including optional cloud-save syncing through cloud-storage accounts you connect. It is distributed under the MIT License; the license text accompanying the source code governs your rights to use, copy, modify, and distribute the Software.
3. Your responsibilities
Section titled “3. Your responsibilities”- You are responsible for your own computer, your game files, your save data, and any cloud-storage or other accounts you connect to Spool.
- You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to back up, copy, and store the games and saves you use Spool with.
- Your use of any connected third-party service (Google Drive, other rclone remotes, SteamGridDB, and so on) is subject to that service’s own terms.
4. No warranty
Section titled “4. No warranty”THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED “AS IS”, WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NONINFRINGEMENT.
Spool moves and overwrites save files. While it is designed to do so safely, you use it at your own risk and are responsible for keeping your own independent backups of important data.
5. Limitation of liability
Section titled “5. Limitation of liability”TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE AUTHORS OR COPYRIGHT HOLDERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES, OR OTHER LIABILITY — INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA OR SAVE FILES — ARISING FROM OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SOFTWARE OR ITS USE.
6. Changes
Section titled “6. Changes”These Terms may be updated; the “Last updated” date above will change accordingly.
